AgentBeacon

Overview

What AgentBeacon is and why it runs entirely locally.

Turn agent status into light

AgentBeacon watches the status reported by coding agents, aggregates idle, working, waiting and error sessions into one semantic state, and shows it on a USB status light.

It has three parts:

  • Rust service — receives agent events, aggregates state and drives devices
  • React web console — status overview, manual light control, mappings and device settings
  • Tauri desktop app — splash, tray, launch at login and local service supervision

Features

  • Real-time status aggregation
  • MLight single / 3-LED and YH50-RGY-J status lights with hot-plug discovery
  • Built-in Pi, OpenCode and DeepSeek Harness integrations; Claude Code through hooks
  • Other agents connect through the CLI or HTTP
  • A mock device for hardware-free validation
  • Chinese / English console with light and dark themes

Fully local, no service required

AgentBeacon is standalone open-source software: the service listens on 127.0.0.1:6980, needs no cloud account, sends no telemetry, and does not depend on QuadHub or any external service.

It is Apache-2.0 licensed and has no private edition.
